Tuesday in Easter Week: Holy Eucharist (Rite I) in the chapel, 10 AM. The Gospel reading is from the account of Jesus meeting Mary Magdalene on Easter morning...a story of love, revelation, deepened awareness, and of the "equal of the Apostles" (Mary) being sent with tidings of resurrection. Come and see!

Easter Liturgies at St. Timothy's: Enter into the proclamation of God's ongoing Kingdom, into which all of us are invited through a loving faith in the loving, risen Savior. The Great Vigil of Easter: 9 PM, Saturday. (including Baptisms & First Eucharist of Easter--our main Easter worship service); childcare available. Easter Day Eucharist: 11 AM, Sunday.

The Liturgy of Good Friday, tonight at 7 PM. The Liturgy of Good Friday is perhaps the most solemn occasion in the Liturgical Year. It is the middle part of the Great Three Days (Triduum) through which we enter into the Paschal Mystery itself. This starkly powerful service of recalling the Crucifixion begins and ends in silence, bringing us from the darkness of death into the light of God's perfect love made known on the Cross.

Maundy Thursday Liturgy at 7 PM. The "Great Three Days" begins with our Maundy Thursday Liturgy. This will be a sung Eucharist with foot washing ceremony, procession of the Holy Sacrament to the altar of repose and stripping of the altar. The all-night Prayer Watch in the chapel begins after the Liturgy. You are welcome to spend an hour in silent prayer with Our Lord. This is one of the most moving, intimate moments in the Church Year. It ends at Noon on Friday. Today begins the most ancient and important part of the Church Year. We participate directly in the truths proclaimed, sharing in the Mystery of Christ's self-offering, death, and resurrection in the liturgies of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter. Come and enter in to the Great Mystery.

Palm Sunday: Holy Week Begins The most important period in the Christian Year begins this Sunday. We make our way into church in a procession recalling Christ's Triumphal entry into Jerusalem as the King of Peace. In an era of spiritual minimalism, we are blessed to be the stewards of a glorious and rich tradition of worship that nourishes the soul. The 5th Sunday in Lent This Sunday's Gospel reading tells the story of Jesus's anointing in Bethany, highlighting Mary of Bethany's loving gift to the teacher who brought back her brother Lazarus from the dead. Stations of the Cross, Fridays in Lent, 7 PM. One hour of prayer, contemplation, participation, and encounter with the love of God in Christ. Do it.

Today is the commemoration of St. Richard of Chichester, obit. c. 1253. He was considered the model diocesan bishop in his time. Today, he is perhaps best known for this short prayer (which was popularized, with the addition of the words "day by day," by the musical "Godspell"): Thanks be to thee, my Lord Jesus Christ, for all the benefits thou hast given me, for all the pains and insults thou hast borne for me. O most merciful redeemer, friend and brother, may I know thee more clearly, love thee more dearly and follow thee more nearly. Amen. A good prayer for Lent, Holy Week, and every day in the Christian life.

Today is the annual remembrance of John Keble, priest, poet, academic, and the author of the sermon that began the catholic revival in modern Anglicanism. Here is a quote from that sermon: "The surest way to uphold or restore our endangered Church, will be for each of her anxious children, in his own place and station, to resign himself more thoroughly to his God and Saviour in those duties, public and private, which are not immediately affected by the emergencies of the moment: the daily and hourly duties, I mean, of piety, purity, charity, justice".

Today is the Feast of the Annunciation. The Holy Eucharist will be celebrated in the chapel at 7 this evening.
